A landscaped walled pool garden in Suffolk with planted borders and a terrace, by Eastscape

Garden landscaping done properly

At Eastscape we believe great garden landscaping is about more than digging beds and laying turf. It’s about understanding how a family actually uses their outdoor space — where the morning sun falls, where you’ll want to put the table, how the garden looks from the kitchen window — and shaping a scheme that works for all of it.

We work with private clients and garden designers across Bury St Edmunds and the wider Suffolk area, on projects that range from a single planted border to a full multi-year garden transformation. Some clients come to us with a fully developed design from their architect or garden designer; others want us to take a clear brief and develop the design ourselves. Either way the discipline is the same: listen carefully, plan thoroughly, build to last.

What’s involved in a landscaping project

A typical garden landscaping project might include any or all of:

  • Garden design and layout — sketch and scaled plans, sight-lines, sun studies, planting palettes
  • Soft landscaping — turfing, seeding, planting, mulching, hedge planting
  • Structural planting — mature trees, hedging for screening, established specimens
  • Hard landscaping integration — paving, paths and steps that anchor the garden’s structure
  • Garden features — pergolas, water features, focal points, outdoor structures

Our approach

Every garden is different and we plan each one from a blank sheet. We start with a site visit and a long conversation — about your brief, your budget, and the practical realities of the plot. From there we’ll develop a scheme, agree materials and timings, and only then start on site. We’re tidy on site, professional with neighbours, and we leave every garden cleaner than we found it.

We work in matched teams of skilled landscapers who care about what they do, with one of our senior team running the project from start to finish so you always know who to ask.
