Walled Pool Garden

One of our most ambitious projects to date: the complete transformation of a walled garden in Suffolk into a year-round destination — pool, pool room, jacuzzi, pergolas, planted terraces, retaining walls and bespoke metal sun-loungers, all delivered as a single, cohesive scheme.

The walled space had real character to begin with — a sun-trap aspect, mature trees beyond the boundary, and a beautifully weathered coral-pink lime-washed wall. The challenge was to add modern amenities without breaking that established atmosphere. Our answer was a quiet palette of natural stone paving, oiled hardwood decking and oak-framed pergolas with hand-fabricated steel brackets — materials chosen to settle in rather than shout.

Construction touched every discipline we offer: groundworks for the pool and retaining walls, brickwork to the pool room, hardwood decking around the water, bespoke metalwork for the sun-loungers and pergola fixings, and planted borders selected to soften every hard edge as they mature.

The garden now does exactly what it was designed to do — drawing the family outside from spring through autumn, and looking quietly composed when no one is home.
